01

Time changes the outcome

Refund deductions may depend on ticket status, class, cancellation time, chart status and the reason for the claim. Use the calculator as an estimate, not a settlement promise.

02

Keep an evidence trail

Save the PNR, transaction ID, cancellation receipt, timestamps and any official message. Avoid posting the full PNR publicly.

03

Use the correct official channel

The correct flow can differ for an online cancellation, a failed booking, a train disruption or a TDR-type claim. Follow the option shown in your official booking account and use RailMadad when applicable.

Rules can change

Always verify final fare, timing, eligibility, quota and refund rules through an official Indian Railways or IRCTC service.
