Match the fare to the journey
Use the same train, stations, date, class and quota you intend to book. Compare like-for-like searches: a shorter section or different quota can change the amount. A fare result says nothing about whether a seat is available.
Check the total at checkout
Review the provider’s fare breakdown when supplied. Before paying, check passenger count, applicable taxes and the booking service’s additional charges. Do not multiply a displayed amount until you know whether it represents one passenger or the whole booking.
If the price differs
Keep both searches on the same conditions and compare which charges are included. The amount accepted by the official booking system is what matters for purchase. RailQ does not collect the ticket fare or issue a booking.
