PNBE, RJPB or DNR: Which Patna Station?

Compare Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal and Danapur station codes. Match your boarding point and plan transfers without station confusion.

These are three different stations

PNBE is Patna Junction, RJPB is Rajendra Nagar Terminal, and DNR is Danapur. They are not interchangeable names for the same boarding point. Use the station shown in your ticket’s boarding details, not simply “Patna” in a taxi instruction or a city-level search.

  • PNBE — Patna Junction / पटना जंक्शन
  • RJPB — Rajendra Nagar Terminal / राजेंद्र नगर टर्मिनल
  • DNR — Danapur / दानापुर
02

Match these four details before leaving

Open the latest ticket or official booking record. Read the boarding point, train number, boarding date and scheduled time together. The station where a train starts its full route need not be your boarding point. A city name in the journey description is not enough to identify the entrance you need.

03

Example: a ticket says RJPB, your cab is going to PNBE

Show the driver the full station name and code before starting. If you notice the mismatch on the way, correct the destination and reassess arrival time immediately. Do not assume the train also stops at PNBE or that you can board elsewhere without checking. Verify the booked boarding point and applicable change process through the official booking service.

04

How to compare trains from the Patna area

When planning a new booking, run separate searches for PNBE, RJPB and DNR to your destination. Compare travel date, stopping pattern, class and the time needed to reach each station. A useful result must fit your whole journey, not only show an attractive departure time. Do not buy a ticket for a different station while assuming the city name makes it equivalent.

05

Allow for a real station-to-station transfer

A connection between different stations includes getting off the first train, reaching the exit, finding transport, road travel, entering the second station and locating the coach. Check a current map route for the exact stations and leave additional margin for traffic, queues, luggage and slower walking. This guide deliberately gives no fixed transfer time or taxi fare: neither is reliable for every departure.

06

Check platforms and assistance separately

A correct station code does not establish the platform. Use station displays and announcements near departure. If a passenger needs step-free access or assistance, confirm the available arrangement with railway staff before relying on it. Old facility lists are not a live guarantee of working lifts, available wheelchairs or a particular entrance.

07

Are PNBE and PNC the same?

No. PNBE identifies Patna Junction; PNC identifies Patna Sahib. Similar names are a reason to double-check, not to shorten the station name. Keep the code with the name when sharing pickup instructions. If a suggestion list does not show your station, consult the ticket and official station enquiry instead of selecting the nearest-looking name.

08

A simple family travel checklist

Before departure, send your travel group one clear message containing the station name and code, meeting point, train number and departure time. Keep the full ticket private. Agree how to reconnect if mobile data fails and ensure each adult knows which station is intended. This small check is more useful than discovering a station mismatch at the last minute.
